Enrico Caruso, his life and death
Published in Unknown Binding by ()
Author: Dorothy Park Benjamin Caruso
Average review score:

seen from somebody who knew him
The book is written by Carusos wife, who he married 3 years before he died . She describes therefore in great detail and citing many letters by him their life and what happened, how is character was etc. She carefully leaves his private life before their marriage out (get this in "my father and my family" by Enrico Caruso jr.:-), but nevertheless - the book is great to read. The first book she wrote about him, shortly after his death (wings of song) is good too and is may be a little bit closer to truth. But to read Carusos letters in this book here is already worth the while....

Euclid Beach Park Is Closed for the Season

Euclid Beach Park is Closed For The Season
If you are into Nostalgia/amusement parks, then this one is a must. It is out of print for sometime, with the limited edition only having 500 copies. The book goes into detail about the park and the family who built/owned it. Lots of interesting pics and one gets a healthy dose of what it was like to be a child growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. Book is factual and a lot of fun, even if you have never been there. The information in the book is invaluable as well as historically correct. The authors went to a great deal of trouble to authenticate and validate their findings. The book is fun as well for children to follow an adult through as the pictures of rides and scenery are incerdible. It also tugs at your heart strings because it is hard to look at something so wonderful and see all the joy it brought to that community, and realize that NOBODY will ever enjoy a sunny day at EUCLID BEACH PARK again. Great reading for anyone.

A fine guide to the budding and experienced naturalist
I believe that this book will be valuable to the budding naturalist struggling to keep up on a wildflower hike and to the seasoned ranger in Everglades National Park. Arranged by color, the book is easy to use while giving a tour with interesting anecdotes that you can study beforehand. A great addition to anyones Nature Guides.

The Everything Travel Guide to the Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Studios, and Greater Orlando: A Complete Guide to the Best Hotels, Restaurants, Parks, and Must-See Attractions (Everything Series)
Published in Paperback by Adams Media Corporation (September, 2002)

An ideal book for those planning an Orlando trip. Great buy!
I purchased this book while planning my family trip to Orlando. I found it to be extremely helpful and is one of the few books available that covers Walt Disney World, Orlando and Seaworld at the same time. This book is ideal for first time visitors to the Orlando area, repeat visitors who have not been to Orlando in awhile and/or those who want to do a good bit of planning before their trip.

When my family first started planning our trip, we knew that there was no way for us to be able to see everything we wanted to in this visit. We wanted to make the most of our travel dollars and visit only places that the whole family can enjoy. This book was extremely useful in giving us information on accommodations, restaurants, parks and their must-see attractions. For each ride/attraction/show within the major theme parks, for instance, the author provides a star rating system based on the individual's age (e.g. 2-4 years, 5-10 years, and so on, including Senior Citizens) as well as information on the attraction itself. There are also "Helpful Hints" sprinkled throughout the book as well as "Travel Tips," "Hot Spots" and "Fast Facts." I found this extremely useful in helping us determine which theme parks would provide the optimum enjoyment for our family.

To give you an idea of how much this book covers, I have listed the chapters below:

1. Preparing for your Vacation
2. Choosing your Accommodations
3. Admission to the Disney Theme Parks
4. Orlando-Area Dining

5. Introduction to the Magic Kingdom
6. Exploring the Magic Kingdom
7. Kid-Oriented Areas of the Magic Kingdom
8. All About Epcot
9. The Disney-MGM Studios
10. Disney's Animal Kingdom
11. Disney's Water Parks
12. Disney Nightlife
13. A High Seas Adventure (Disney Cruise Lines)
14. The Universal Orlando Resort
15. The Universal Studios Florida Theme Park
16. Universal Escape's Islands of Adventure
17. Universal City Walk
18. SeaWorld and Discovery Cove
19. Exploring Greater Orlando
20. Planning Your Trip

In addition to this extensive list are maps, important phone numbers, an attraction selection worksheet and daily itinerary. In short, I would have to say that this book gives a lot of bang for the buck. It would recommend it to those with families who are planning to visit the Orlando area and plan to enjoy Walt Disney World as well as the other non-Disney theme parks.

Experience Marketing : Strategies for the New Millennium
Published in Hardcover by Venture Publishing, Inc. (September, 1998)
Authors: Ellen L. O'Sullivan and Kathy J. Spangler

Beyond Service Management
I liked the book because it adds one extra dimension to service management: the emotional involvement of the customer and the (new) marketing consequences of it. Also, the structure of the book is good: adding new marketing P's and defining different levels of experience to different lines of business. The overwhelming wealth of practical examples and ideas is another great asset. It will be very useful for me for use in different programs at our CHN university in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands

Explore-- the forest of Nisene Marks State Park

Explore--the forest of Nisene Marks State Park
This is a wonderful local travel guide! One is given not only the trails with their twist, turns, and elevation levels to walk along, but also the history of this one time busy and glorious area. The photographs that are used along with the text and maps illustrate the beauty, the luscious growth, and the historical value of the area. Many travel guides give one only the path ones feet need to take. Jeff Thomson has allowed us to also carry our imagination of what it would have been like those many years ago. This book is superbly written, and beautifully photographed. Even if one never explores these trails, the book is a worthy read.

Exploring Point Reyes: A Guide to Point Reyes National Seashore

Guide to Point Reyes for Avid Hikers
California and Oregon coasts are homes to much hidden beauties and treasures. The Point Reyes National Seashore is just one of the hidden pearls. "Exploring Point Reyes" is by far the most updated, complete, and enthusiastic guide to the seclusive peninsula about 25 miles northwest of San Francisco. Many Point Reyes guide books I found at the bookstore are outdated though they contribute an abundance of information.

"Exploring Point Reyes" refreshes the minds of those who dream of Point Reyes. The guide come with photos of Drakse Estero, Tomales Bay, the Point Reyes Lighthouse standing 330 steps down the valley on the tip of the peninsula, and more. The impact of Point Reyes is most dramatic at the meeting of land and sea. The guide has captured such beauty with the photos.

"Exploring Point Reyes" also provides information and cautionary advice about beaches within the national seashore. The book gives to direction to good protected beach for wading, picnicking, or just lying in the sun. The coverage on the Point Reyes Lighthouse is excellent. One of the greatest location for whale-watching is the lighthouse observation platform from December to April.

"Exploring Point Reyes" also satisfies the desires of adventurous hikers with info on less-known hiking trails. Trail maps are abundant in the book. The coverage on trails is divided into three types of terrain that distinguishes the trail systems of Point Reyes. Whether you're planning a camping trip, a hike-a-thon, or just a one-day photography session at Point Reyes, this book will allow you to see and experience the beauty of the Point Reyes peninsula. Avid hikers should not miss the book.

Exploring the Yellowstone Backcountry: A Guide to the Hiking Trails of Yellowstone With Additional Sections on Canoeing, Bicycling, and Cross-Countr
Published in Paperback by Sierra Club Books (June, 1992)
Author: Orville E. Bach
Average review score:

Yellowstone Yes
This is the best trails book for any of the mountain states national parks. I have not found a book for Glacier or Rocky Mountain National parks as good as this book. The Kent and Donna Dannen guide to RMNP comes close. This book may look as if it is for backpackers, but it has lots of info for day hikes, too.
